The history of Hotel Gassenhof in Ridanna/Ridnaun
Our hotel looks back on a history of almost 40 years. Back then, possibilities for accommodation were few and far between in the beautiful village of Ridanna/Ridnaun. That’s why Adolf and Helene Volgger decided to open a small guest house. Construction started on 1 August 1973 and only shortly afterwards, on 1 June 1974, Gassenhof was officially opened.
1974-1982
The Gassenhof accommodation soon becomes popular with guests from all walks of life, thanks to the hard work and warm hospitality of the Volgger family.
1982-1994
1982: The outdoor pool and tanning lawns are added.
1988: The lounge, gym, sauna and solarium are added and the dining room is enlarged.
1992: Dormers are built on the North and South side of the hotel.
1993: The hotel’s guest rooms are renovated.
The big renovation
1994 is a year of many changes at Hotel Gassenhof. Renovations included the enlargement of the guest parlor and the construction of a non-smoking dining room, as well as a new-look façade, making the hotel an even more attractive accommodation in Ridanna/Ridnaun.
2009 – 35th anniversary of Gassenhof
On 16 October 2009, a big party is hosted for some 500 guests and friends, neighbors and partners of the hotel in Ridanna/Ridnaun, with a big festival tent and the inauguration of the “Tree of Life” at the hotel.
