Explore truly stunning surroundings with guaranteed excellent snow conditions and a superb panorama which includes the Stubai Alps in the North and the Sarentino/Sarntal Alps in the South, as well as the Zillertal Alps which are reflected in the reliefs of the Ötztal Alps in the West. This area has become more and more popular in recent years thanks to a number of hills, reasonable distances and a favorable location. Attention is required on the way to the Alpine hut and (in rare cases) if no tracks are present. Always be careful on the steepest parts of the climb.
Ascent: At the car park, take no 10 trail in direction Innere Wumblsalm. After the first turn leave the forestry trail and climb up until you reach soft Alpine pastures which lead to the quaint, romantic Wumblsalm hut on an altitude of 1,906 m above sea level. Behind the hut, continue in southern direction and reach the ridge. Then continue towards the West to the summit cross, the tour’s highest point.
Descent: Same as ascent or alternatively, go down the northern slope just beneath the summit cross. Behind the Alpine hut you can go anywhere in the forest but make sure never to lose sight of the ascent trail.
Please note: The Innere Wumblsalm hut can also be reached on a long forestry trail which starts near Pulverer Hof farm at approx. 2.5 km from the ski lifts in Racines/Ratschings. This trail is also suitable for beginners since it does not include any particularly steep bits such as the ones on no 10 trail.

Please note: Advanced and professional ski touring aficionados may want to climb all the way up to Hohe Kreuzspitze. This peak can be rached by turning right just behind the ravine above Klammalm hut.
