When Manni is not out hiking or at work in his brewery, you can usually find him busy pursuing another one of his passions – distilling spirits and liqueurs! The Gratznbrand distillery, in close proximity to our hotel in Ridnaun, is where he transforms a variety of hand-picked fruits into fine alcoholic treasures.

A high-spirited host and his passion for quality distillates

Besides our fine wine selection, our craft beer and Stefan’s gourmet cuisine, the Gratznbrand distillery is the fourth speciality of the house, and one of the things that make the experience at Gassenhof so faceted and unique.

Manni is always happy to offer interested guests an introduction to the art of distilling schnapps and explain how the finest berries, fruits and herbs from the area are used to create delicious spirits and liqueurs. Among these, there’s also a special highlight: Argintum, our own gin.

If you decide to visit our distillery, a tasting is a must, of course. It will give you the chance to try first-hand the quality that has earned us the title of best distillery among the Italian competitors participating in Austria’s Destillata competition. As our guest, you have the unique opportunity to purchase our award-winning distillates right here at the hotel (and, if you reside in Germany, also online). This way, you can relive the Gassenhof experience from the comfort of your home, or surprise someone with a great souvenir from your South Tyrol holiday.
