Hiking in Ridanna-South Tyrol: challenging hikes

To the highest refuge in South Tyrol

If you plan on hiking in South Tyrol during on holidays at our hotel in Ridanna/Ridnaun [Home], do not miss out on visiting the highest mountain huts in the region. Our tip: a hike to the Rifugio Gino Biasi/Becherhaus situated at 3,195 metres height, the highest refuge in South Tyrol. Start your hike at the end of Ridanna Valley and follow the trail no. 9 across Aglsboden to Grohmann and Teplitzer lodge. Continue following the marking no. 9. Cross the glaciar arm and you reach the foot of the Becher southern edge. The trail leads you over the partially secured rock trail to the Rifugio Gino Biasi/Becherhaus which is open in summer, offering food and drink. The ascent takes a minimum of seven hours. For the descent take the same trail. We recommend to stay overnight in the refuge; please remember to book in advance. The best time for this challenging hike is July, August and September.
