Tour to the seven lakes in Ridanna Valley

This extensive and quite challenging mountain tour takes between eight and nine hours. Prerequisites are good general health, prior mountain experience and good weather. This hike leads you to the Stubai Alps and, nomen est omen, past seven lakes. The trail starts at the mining museum in Masseria/Maiern in Val Ridanna. Head towards Moarbergalm and, afterwards, towards Grohmannhütte. Here, follow the signs indicating the tour of the 7 lakes (“7 laghi/7 Seen”).
To the Aglsbodenalm in Ridanna Valley

If you are looking for a more leisurely hike, we recommend you this hike leading to the mountain hut at the end of Ridanna Valley. This hike takes about one to two hours. Starting point is Masseria/Maiern, about five minutes by car from our hotel in Ridanna Valley. Follow the small road to the Gsennen farm and the signs towards "Aglsbodenalm". The trail is wide and not very steep, leading across woods an partly over meadows. The lodge is situated at 1,720 metres and open in summer. Tip: stop for a refreshment.
